Before the Temple was built in Jerusalem, the tabernacle and the ark were associated with Shiloh. Samuel served there as a child under Eli.

Samuel began as a child serving quietly at Shiloh and became a trusted prophet and leader of Israel. He listened when God spoke, prayed when people disappointed him and spoke the truth when obedience was difficult.
