Animals were part of everyday life in Bible times. They carried travellers, worked in fields, provided food and clothing, and appeared in memorable events and teachings.
Here we meet five familiar animals, learn how people used them, and discover what their Bible stories teach us today.
வேதாகம காலத்தில் விலங்குகள் அன்றாட வாழ்க்கையின் ஒரு பகுதியாக இருந்தன. அவை மனிதர்களைச் சுமந்தன, வயல்களில் உழைத்தன, உணவும் உடையும் கொடுத்தன; பல முக்கிய வேதாகம நிகழ்வுகளிலும் இடம்பெற்றன.
இந்தப் பகுதியில் ஐந்து விலங்குகளை அறிந்து, அவை எவ்வாறு பயன்பட்டன என்பதையும், அவற்றுடன் தொடர்புடைய வேதாகம நிகழ்வுகள் இன்று நமக்கு என்ன கற்பிக்கின்றன என்பதையும் பார்ப்போம்.
🐑 Sheep ஆடு
Sheep were among the most valuable animals in Bible times. They supplied wool, milk and meat, and were also used for sacrifices.
வேதாகம காலத்தில் ஆடுகள் மிகவும் மதிப்புமிக்க விலங்குகளாக இருந்தன. அவை கம்பளி, பால், இறைச்சி ஆகியவற்றைக் கொடுத்தன; பலிகளிலும் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டன.

🦁 Lion சிங்கம்
The lion was feared for its strength and admired for its courage. Scripture uses it as a picture of danger, royal authority and victory.
சிங்கம் அதன் வலிமைக்காக அஞ்சப்பட்டது; தைரியத்திற்காக மதிக்கப்பட்டது. வேதாகமத்தில் அது ஆபத்து, அரச அதிகாரம், வெற்றி ஆகியவற்றைக் காட்டும் உருவகமாக வருகிறது.

The lions of Bible lands belonged to the Asiatic lion population. Today Asiatic lions survive in Gujarat, India, across Gir and other parts of Saurashtra.

A camel's hump stores fat, not water. The stored fat helps it when food is scarce.
ஒட்டகத்தின் திமிலில் தண்ணீர் அல்ல, கொழுப்பே சேமிக்கப்படுகிறது. உணவு குறைவாக இருக்கும்போது அது ஒட்டகத்திற்கு உதவுகிறது.

Strong and dependable, oxen helped farmers plough fields, thresh grain and pull carts. Their work supported daily life in agricultural communities.
வலிமையும் நம்பகத்தன்மையும் கொண்ட எருதுகள் நிலம் உழுதல், தானியம் மிதித்தல், வண்டி இழுத்தல் போன்ற பணிகளில் உதவின. விவசாய வாழ்க்கையில் அவற்றின் பங்கு மிக முக்கியமானது.

An ox is cattle trained for draft work. Its steady strength made it especially useful for ploughing and pulling carts.
எருது என்பது இழுப்புப் பணிக்குப் பயிற்றுவிக்கப்பட்ட மாடு. அதன் நிலையான வலிமை உழவுக்கும் வண்டி இழுப்பதற்கும் மிகவும் உதவியது.

God values honest, willing work. We honour Him when we use our abilities faithfully, even in ordinary tasks.
